Friendly Words and Phrases We Use At Stony Brook

Here are some friendly words and phrases we use at Stony Brook.  Please feel free to say these at home.

1.  Are you making a good choice?
What would be a better choice?
If someone is mad say:  "Did you stop and smell the soup…cool the soup …and   count to 10?  Then go make a good choice.  Good choices do not hurt   you,   anyone else, or anything."
 
2.   Are you staying in your space bubble?
(the area around you)

3.   Are you treating others the way you want to be treated?

4.   Are you being a good friend?

5.   How can you be a good friend?
 What can you do next time?
 Was what you did helpful?

6.   Are you including _________ in your Green Circle?

7.   If a child is having problems getting along, you could say,
  "Did you use the I care language"
